Why, Honey?

Why, Honey? is a short story written by Raymond Carver. It tells about concerned mother whose son started to lie and get outbursts. The whole story is actually a letter written by the mother. In the letter the mother tells about her distant relation with her son and how they don’t know each other anymore.

I think that the mother is telling the truth. Her son’s behavior is alarming. He was only 15 when he started ruthlessly lie and that is when a normal parent begins seriously think what is wrong with the child. I think the mother’s evidence is convincing. She found out that her son hasn’t been at work anymore even though he told he was. Of course these kind of things make the mother think why he can’t just tell the truth. Why is he so mysterious? What is he hiding? The mother just wants to be a part of her son’s life. The section of the text where their neighbour Mrs Cooper found their dying cat in her backyard was some kind of turning point. That is because Mrs Cooper saw two boys putting firecrackers in cat’s ears and she was quite sure that the other boy was the mother’s son. The mother couldn’t believe that until her son started to do other odd things. I think that she has thought about it a lot and now she probably believes that it was her son, unfortunately.

The text is quite sinister and sad. The mother writes directly from her heart and she seems to be very broken. She really wanted to know her son better but it was so complicated. Of course it is hard when your own son just lies to you and get scary outbursts. The story is quite sinister also because it tells about separation of two family members and it is always a sensitive and sad thing. It would be strange if the mother wrote happily and the thing wouldn’t bother her at all. I believe that her son was the most important thing in her life and nowadays she don’t even know him. It must be hard.

I think that the story is interesting and it brings about different opinions. It is also very easy to read. The text is clear and the story proceeds fluently. Overall a very good story.

A Daedra’s Best Friend

Notes:

  • The milieu takes place in Skyrim, an enormous province of the fantasy land called Tamriel. The climate is similar to Finland, and it is homeland to the Nords, large and hardy men and women who resemble vikings or barbarians.

  • This fan-fiction is based on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Kiiski was an unsual nord. She wasn’t interested in cracking skulls or breaking bones at all. She was a mage, a battlemage to be exact since she wore armor. Very few Nords were mages or used any kind of magic at all, the magic was seen evil and weak, since it was directly connected to the Elves, and by most Nords, the Elves were considered to be weaker than Nords, but the feeling was mutual on the both sides. The both sides had their lunatic fringes.

The young mage walked the streets of Falkreath. Falkreath was one of the biggest cities of   Skyrim and it was famous for it’s graveyard. Many honorable dead had been buried there. As walking the rocky streets she heard approaching footsteps. A city quard was walking towards her. Kiiski stopped and turned towards the guard.

”You don’t seem to have any work, so I have a simply request for you.”, the guard said.

”Go on.”, Kiiski added.

”Our city’s blacksmith Lod, he has been looking for a dog and spotted one near the entrance of the city. You should go to speak to him. He might reward you with some gold.”,   the guard answered.

Kiiski’s eyes glistened when she heard the words of gold. After that she thanked the guard from useful information. She walked directly trough the streets to the blacksmith’s smithy.

”I heard you will reward someone who retrieves a dog for you”, the mage spoke.

The blacksmith stopped forging his latest work, and turned around. The blacksmith who was called Lod, was a tall man with short brown hair and he was all dirty, since forging was  dirty and challenging work, and his face was almost covered in soot.

”Did you see a hound on the road ? A fine strong creature that’s been wandering near town ?”, Lod asked curiously.

”The guard mentioned a dog.”, the mage added.

She wanted to get directly to the work and wasn’t really interested in the chatter of this man. But then she opened her mouth and said:

”I would be convinced to catch him.”

She didn’t mean what she said, she was only interested in the reward.

The blacksmith replied eagerly:

”It’s a smart human being that demands something up front for her work. Here’s some meat, I’ll give you the gold when I have my dog.”

After that the mage dashed through the city. Then she stopped and looked at the forest. ”The dog must be somewhere”, she tought. And she continued to stroll in the forest. Suddenly she heard a voice.

”You are exactly what I was looking for.”, said the voice.

The surprised woman turned around, and she wouldn’t believed her eyes. She saw a dog. Did that voice really came from that ? It can’t be possible.

”Did you just speak ?”, Kiiski said a doubt in her voice.

”Skyrim is now home to giants, flying lizards as you know as dragons and two-legged cat-men, and you’re surprised by me? Yes. I just talked. And am continuing to do so”, the dog replied with a mischievous tone.

”Really funny.”, Kiiski said annoyed.

”My name is Barbas and you must help me human, my Master has banished me. I want you to help me with this problem. We had an argument…”

Then the mage interrupted his speech before he could finish what he was trying to say: ”Very well, you flea bag. Let’s go see this Master of yours.”

”That wasn’t really nice ”, Barbas growled, but then added: ”I will lead you to the Haemar’s Shame, my Master lives there.

”Who exactly is your Master ? Kiiski asked. She was greatly interested in why anyone would simply abandon a speaking dog, that was madness since the dog was really valuable.

”My Master is Clavicus Vile, the Daedric Prince of Wishes and Bargains”, Barbas answered, pride in his voice.

Kiiski cringed. Clavicus Vile was a Daedra. Daedras were evil creatures from a different  dimension called Oblivion, and they despised mortals.

”So I’m making deals with Daedras. I’m not risking my life on this, you foul creature.” Kiiski shouted. She didn’t want to get involved with Daedras. Daedras weren’t fools and they were highly intelligent.

”I will promise that you won’t get hurt, I swear”, Barbas said and then added: ”Shall we travel to Haemar’s Shame ?”

”Very well. But remember what you have promised Daedra.”, Kiiski said.

The traveled together. Through forests, through different roads. The ground became more hostile and snow-covered. Roads became more rockier and more dangerous. A careless traveler would easily broke one’s ankle, so one had to be really careful and watch every footstep. The climate got colder. Kiiski was tired. She had traveled with that Daedra for couple of days. But yet she gathered all her power to just keep going. Finally they came to the end of their journey. Haemar’s Shame was a cave in the snowy mountain area. The atmosphere of the area was repulsive.

”Shall we go in ?”, Barbas barked.

”It seems we don’t have any choice, after you dog.”, Kiiski stated.

They stepped inside the cave. The cave smelled disgusting. The mage wrinkle her nose in disgust. Then she gazed at the floor of the cave. She was as if poleaxed. There was mutilated bodies, limbs and bloody bones.

”Vampires”, she whispered.

”Barbas we should be really careful now..”, she couldn’t end her talk as she noticed that the dog was gone.

”Dammit”, she thought. Now she was alone with vampires. Then she heard an unhuman scream. Quicky she murmured, and opened her palms. Small flames surrounded her hands. Now she was ready. If a vampire decided to attack her, she could cast a fire spell and possibly even burn that monster in to dust. She started to run. The light that was caused by the flames improved her sight. But that also made her easier to detect.

”Another intruder !”

A vampire saw her. Actually there were two vampires. Barbas was trying to fight them both. Barbas fiercely tried to kill them, but he was weak. He had no match for two vampires. Kiiski casted a spell, a blast of fire ejected from her hands. The fire hit the another vampire who had noticed her. The vampire screamed in pain, then collapsed to death, still burning.

”You’re next.”, Kiiski said calmly.

The remaining vampire hissed: ”You’re not getting out of here alive.”

The vampire pulled out his dagger, and in a blink of an eye slashed Barbas with his dagger. Barbas whined when the dagger slashed his back, but the mage prepared to attack. She hurled a fire ball towards the vampire, but it didn’t seem to work. Determinedly the vampire walked toward the mage, this determination scared the mage. She had ever encountered a vampire who was this strong. Barbas had recovered a little from the strike, he grabbed vampire’s leg and pulled him down. The fire had weakened him and Barbas easily tore his throat.

”You seem to be okay, let’s go burn all these bloodsuckers.”, Kiiski said a laugh in her tone.

”It has been a while I have had a challenging fight like this.”

”There is no time for chatting, woman, let’s go to find my Master.”, Barbas said angrily.

After clearing the whole cave of vampires. They arrived into a hall, in the middle of it there was a huge statue of a horned man wearing a toga raising a helmet in his hand.

”There is my Master. But a word of warning. Don’t accept any offers from him, no matter how tempting they are, okay ? But if you succeed to convince him to take me back, I’ll make sure that you will be rewarded.”, Barbas stated.

”Just talk to the statue. It will go well.”

Kiiski felt like an idiot. Talking to a statue. A talking dog. These events were like a really strange dream. But she decided to fill the dog reguest.

”Clavicus Vile, I came here to reunite you and Barbas.”, the mage stated.

A great and audible voice came from the statue:

”Why I, Clavicus Vile should take that mutt back, and you mortal, killed my last worshipers, but it doesn’t really matter since you granted their wishes and ended their misery. They were suffering from their vampirism, and came here for a cure and you gave it to them, by burning them all to death !”

The mage felt uncomfortable, she had never encountered a real Daedra before. And now she was talking to one and yet very strong one.

”Why you don’t want your dog back ? You are his Master after all.”, Kiiski mumbled.

”Hmm.. If you get me an axe, an incredibly powerful axe. If you bring it to me, I might take my dog back. The axe might rest in Rimerock Burrow. If I remember right.”

Then the statue silenced. Kiiski turned to Barbas.

”Do you know anything about this axe, he was talking about ? It might help, if you knew.”, Kiiski asked.

”There was a wizard named Sebastian Lort, he had a daughter, who was worshiping Hircine, the father of the werewolves. When his daughter became a werewolf, it depressed Sebastian. He didn’t want to see his daughter take such a bestial form.”, Barbas stated.

”Was your Master involved in this, I have my doubts..” Kiiski answered.

”Actually, yes, the wizard wished for the ability to cure his daughter’s curse. Clavicus gave him an axe.”

Kiiski remained quiet then said: ”Let’s go find this axe and end this.”

Barbas agreed and nodded. Then they left the cave. Rimerock Burrow was far away, on the other side of Skyrim, but the mage had a plan to get there. While walking she searched  for an open place.

Then Barbas asked: ”Shouldn’t we go to Rimerock Burrow, there is long way to there, we should be walking already.

Kiiski ignored Barbas, stared at the sky and suddenly shouted at the sky: ”Odahviing! Hear my voice and come forth. I summon you in my time of need.”

Nothing happened. Everything was quiet. Too quiet. But then a magnificent roar was heard from the sky. A giant red dragon appeared, he circled around them, then landed. Just in front of them.

”My friend, here I am”, the great dragon said while stretching his neck. The dragon was a mighty specimen of his kind. His scales were bright red and he looked extremely powerful.

”We need your help, Odahviing, my friend. Take us to Rimerock Burrow.”, Kiiski said with great respect for the beast.

”Does that dog come too as well ?” Odahviing asked.

”Yes, the dog comes with us, you liked it or not.”, Kiiski said.

Odahviing looked at Barbas, grunted load. Then lowered his head towards the land, that it would be easier to climb on his back. Kiiski climbed to the great dragon’s back, grabbed from his back and pulled him up. Then the red dragon spread his massive wings, started to flap his wings. A short moment passed and then they flew. The journey was much faster. Then Odahviing landed and let his riders jump out of his back.

”Wait here, don’t go anywhere we need to get back as we fulfill our task here.”, Kiiski ordered.

The great dragon nodded, flew and landed on a huge rock, it was better place to sit than snow. Then Kiiski and Barbas went to search for Rimerock Burrow.

”If Rimerock Burrow is an another cave, I swear..”, Kiiski muttered.

Unluckily for her, Rimerock Burrow was a cave and she wasn’t happy with that fact. She hated caves, since they were dark and who knows what dwells there. They walked into the cave. The cave was chilly. Really chilly, and it looked inhabited. But this time there was no mutilated bodies or anything like that, but fresh footsteps that seemed to belong for a human being.

At the the end of the cave, there was book shelves, barrels, tables and a chair. There was an old man sitting on the chair. He seemed to read some kind of book. Kiiski looked around and noticed an axe on a table. ”That must be that axe, I’m sure of it”, she thought.

She sneaked towards the table, grabbed the axe and sneaked back to Barbas, who was sitting down and waiting for the mage’s return.

”Was that man Sebastian Lort ?”, Kiiski asked Barbas.

”Yes, that man is Sebastian Lort. It seems he has isolated himself from others.”, Barbas answered.

”I don’t wonder that.”, Kiiski said while walking. Then they left the cave. Odahviing seemed to have taken a nap since he flinched suddenly. Then flew off from the rock, where he was sitting. Then landed to next to the mage and his companion. Then they flew back to the Haemar’s Shame.

”You can go now Odahviing, I don’t need your service anymore.”, Kiiski said.

The great dragon nodded and let out an roar, while flying away. The mage watched his flight away until he could not be noticed from the sky. Then Barbas and his mage friend. Stepped into the cave. This time the cave smell was different, now it smelled burnt flesh, but at least it was more tolerable smell than smell of bodies. When they arrived at the statue, the statue started to talk before either Kiiski or Barbas had opened their mouths:

”You got the axe. And my dog. Splendid.”

”We’re back, now take Barbas back as you promised”, Kiiski said.

”A hero and his faithful companion, fetching an artifact for the prince. It’s almost like a fairytail.”, Clavicus Vile answered.

”What if you kept the axe ? But only if you kill Barbas. Simply as that.”

”No deal, just take the axe and your dog.”, Kiiski yelled. This time she didn’t care if she made this Daedra angry, she was fed up with him.

”You’re not fun at all, but yeah yeah, dog gets his Master back, the Master gets an axe, everyone is happy. Now Barbas get over here.”, Clavicus Vile said annoyed.

Then there was a sudden blinding light. Kiiski closed her eyes since the light was too bright. Then she opened her eyes, Barbas was missing. Where was that dog ? No dog can’t simply vanish into thin air. But then she saw it. The statue was changed. Now there was a dog standing majestically next to the horned man. The mage smiled. Her work was now done here.

Wuthering Heights

Wuthering Heights is a novel written by Emily Brontë which was first published in 1847. The Story is set in Yorkshire on the moors. Wuthering Heights is a story about doomed love and passion. The narration of the book is divided by several people including a traveler called Lockwood and a servant, Ellen who raises the Earnshaw children and is like a second mother to them.

The two main characters of the novel Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff create a very obsessive and unhealthy love for one another. They are brought together in the beginning of the novel by Catherine’s father who finds a young gypsy boy named Heathcliff in the streets all alone. Mr. Earnshaw decides to raise Heathcliff as his own son, so that Catherine and her brother Hindley would become the boy’s siblings. Neither of them, Catherine nor Hindley develop a normal sibship between Heathcliff. Hindley dislikes Heathcliff immensely and he hates living in the same household as a dirty, filthy little gybsy. Together Catherine and Heathcliff behave very badly and test the limits of Joseph, a servant at Wuthering Heights. Growing up Catherine and Heathcliff are like two peas in a pod, they spend every waking moment together. All this changes, when they spy on their neighbours, the Linton’s and a dog comes after them. The dog bites Cathy and she is taken inside by the Linton’s who want to care for her as long as she is ill. This is one of the main reasons why Catherine and Heathcliff fall out with one another. After these happenings their lives change irrevocably.

Wuthering Heights is a novel which contains a lot of dark and gothic tones. It is set on the Yorkshire moors which is a gloomy and daunting place in itself. The Wuthering Heights mansion is also filled with paranormal and unexplainable happenings. It is said in the beginning of the novel that this very building is haunted by Catherine Earnshaw. Emily Brontë has written a novel which captures the essence of a brilliant horror story. Even though Wuthering Heights is best known for its amazing tragic love story, it isn’t the only definition of this boundary breaking novel of its time. It is a story about an imperfect family and how they help a little orphan boy but also destroy the little goodness that is still left in him.

Catherine and Hindley seem to be spoilt brats even before Heathcliff comes into the picture. It seems that the only person that Mr. Earnshaw really loves is Heathcliff. He has tries to compensate, for the lack of love that he has forgotten to express towards his children, by buying presents and spoiling them. Probably one of the main reasons why Hindley treats Heathcliff the way he does is because he has been jealous of him, ever since that day when his father brought Heathcliff to Wuthering Heights. Heathcliff is a certain kind of replacement of a son, or that’s at least how Hindley feels about the whole situation. Catherine cares for Heathcliff much more than she cares for Hindley although in this case Catherine’s relationship with Heathcliff is a romantic one, and a platonic one between her and Hindley.

Although the novel contained a lot of violence which isn’t normally my cup of tea, I really enjoyed it. I also disliked both of the main characters vastly I really enjoyed the story. It was like, together Catherine and Heathcliff seemed nearly human. Together they were like one complete human being but separately two individual monsters. It felt like that the only real goodness in both of them was their love for each other. There are a few parts in this novel that explain the situation quite well for example Catherine says: “Nelly, I am Heathcliff! He’s always, always in my mind: not as a pleasure, any more than I am always a pleasure to myself, but as my own being. “Also later in the novel Heathcliff says: “I cannot live without my life. I cannot live without my soul.” Even though it contained a lot of kinks, altogether it was an enjoyable read which didn’t disappoint.

Quest for the intelligence briefcase – A Team Fortress 2 fan-fiction

Note: This fan-fiction is written from the view of the RED (Reliable Excavation Demolition)-team’s Scout on the map ctf_2fort.

”Time for another round then, I guess”, I said to my friends while loading more bullets into my scattergun.

We were standing at the resupply room and everyone was doing the same: checking their equipment and talking to each other. I was happy for the fact that my team included all of my friends: Soldier, Pyro, Demoman, Heavy, Engineer, Medic, Sniper and Spy.

”Yo Scout, what’s your plan?” asked Demoman with his Scottish accent.

”I’m not sure”, I replied after thinking for a while. ”But probably I’ll just jump to the roof on the bridge and rush to their intelligence”

”Sounds like a plan”, said Soldier. ”We’ll cover you from a distance.”

Suddenly, the doors opened. It was time for us to move. Me being the fastest, I was the first one to exit the door. Thoughts were moving through my head. What if the enemy catches me during my jump from the roof to their balcony? It would be a worst case scenario. I started running as fast as I could. I jumped from our balcony to the roof on the bridge. It was a success. As I dashed over the roof, I began my second jump. I flew through the air for a while. Suddenly, I stopped in mid air. At the same time, I saw the outlines of a man.

”Damn you, Spy!” I shouted.

”Weren’t you supposed to be good at dodging?” he mocked me.

The ”thing” which I collided with was a BLU (Builders League United)-team’s Spy. He was fully cloaked until I collided with him so I had no idea of his presence. My plan had foiled. I had to choose an alternate route. I decided to go through the sewers.

While I was running in the sewer, I heard the sounds of a struggle from ahead. I took my scattergun from my back and started to sneak. The sounds grew stronger. I could identify that it was a fight between our Demoman and enemy teams’s Heavy. Luckily, when I arrived, the Heavy had his back turned against me and was just about to deal a lethal blow to our Demoman with his fist. I quickly changed my weapon to my trusty old baseball bat and knocked Heavy unconscious.

”Thanks lad”, said Demoman. ”I owe you one”

”No problem”, I replied. ”Just buy me a Bonk! Atomic Punch once and then we’re even.”

I continued proceeding forwards to the enemy base. When I arrived at the stairway, I heard a buzzing noise and a scream from above. The scream came from the enemy team’s Engineer getting stabbed by our Spy’s knife. The buzz came from the enemy’s sentry gun getting sapped by an electro-sapper. I was going to say thanks to our Spy, but he had already disappeared. He’s such a sneaky fellow.

I was quickly approaching the enemy’s inner base. As I was running down the hallway, I heard footsteps from behind. I quickly hid behind the corner. I waited until he was almost at the corner. I quickly took my scattergun from my back and ensured it was loaded. I peeked behind the corner and fired. The bullets flew from the gun and hit the enemy’s Scout. I went behind the corner again. I heard him scream in pain. I peeked again and fired another shot. After the smoke that came from the gun had cleared, I looked at the ground. There was the Scout’s dead body on the ground. I turned around and headed for the intelligence briefcase.

After I had arrived at the intelligence room, I took a quick look around. I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary so I quickly took the briefcase and put it on my back.

”Alert! The enemy has taken our intelligence!”, said the administrator through the speakers. That was what the enemy team heard.

From that point on, the BLU-team knew where I was. They could easily find out where I headed because of the tracking device in the briefcase, but it’s the risk that has to be taken, because the intelligence briefcase needs to be captured in order to be victorious and receive a reward from the administrator.

I started running as fast as I could towards our base. After I got back to the daylight from the hall, I encountered enemy team’s Heavy. I got an idea. Since the Heavy is easy to provoke, I decided to use that as a plan.

”Hey bald guy, how about you give me that sandwich of yours”, I said. ”I got a little hungry from all this running and I don’t think you will need it soon anymore because you will be dead.”

”Hey, nobody touches my sandwich”, he said with his Russian accent.

I ran towards him with my baseball bat in my hand and took his sandwich from his hand. Then I swung my bat and hit him in the head. He didn’t really care about me hitting him. He cared more about the sandwich. I heard him shout and he picked up his minigun. Luckily the Heavy is so slow that I could run behind the corner on their balcony before I got hit by his gun. I put the sandwich to my pocket and jumped on the roof on the bridge. So far so good.

After arriving on the other side of the roof, I jumped on our balcony. I started heading towards our intelligence room, so I could end this round as soon as possible. I only forgot one thing. The BLU Sniper. As I was exiting the balcony, I heard a loud bang. That was the sound of a sniper rifle. Fraction of a second later, I felt an immense amount of pain in my right arm. My scattergun fell to the ground. I screamed instinctively. I was on the verge of losing consciousness. I looked at my hand. It was crippled and bloody. Was that it? The end of my victorious road as the trusted intelligence carrier? No. I couldn’t accept it. I wasn’t dead. Everything wasn’t lost yet. I knew what I had to do.

”Medic!” I shouted. ”Medic!”

I saw a man in a white uniform heading towards me. He had red rubber gloves and a device called the ”medi-gun”.

”Let’s practice medicine!” he shouted eagerly with his German accent. ”Don’t worry about it.”

I closed my eyes. I heard a sound that somewhat resembled a vacuum cleaner. After a few seconds, my hand was back to normal. It was like magic.

”Thanks doc”, I said to him.

When I arrived at our intelligence room, our Engineer was there to greet me.

”Nice going, partner”, he said.

”Piece of cake”, I replied.

I took the briefcase from my back and put it on the desk.

”Victory!” shouted the adminstrator.

The round was over. A well-earned victory.

I was proud of myself. Surely my team had done a great job but it was I, who had secured the intelligence briefcase. I ran outside to the daylight with my hands up. We celebrated our victory during the humiliation round. I heard Soldier’s voice from a distance:

”My rocket launcher is thirsty for blood, maggots”, he shouted.

After the match we went to the Mann Co. store and bought some new weapons and outfits. It was just an ordinary day in my life as the RED-team’s Scout.

Harrison Bergeron

Name of the novel is Harrison Bergeron and its written by Kurt Vonnegut. The Novel tells about year 2081 when everybody was equal. Nobody was smarter or stronger than anybody else. People who were smarter than others, had for example a mental handicap radio in their ear. Every people were forced to be equally stubid.

The story tells about George and Hazel Bergeron. Their 14 year old son Harrison Bergeron was kidnapped by the United States Handicapper General. One day George and Hazel were watching ballerinas dancing on television. Suddenly there was a special news bulletin. The news told that their son, Harrison, had just escaped from prison. He was arrested because of suspicion of plotting against the covernment.

Because Harrison was a big guy and very strong, he escaped. He screamed that everybody needed to obey him. He wanted to choose himself an empress. Very beautiful ballerina volunteered to be his empress. They started to dance. Their romantic dance was interrupted by Diana Moon Glampers, the Handicapper General. She shot both Harrison and the Ballerina to death. Harrison’s parents didn’t quite understand what had just happened. So they continued their lives.

The story was a little bit strange but still it was quite interesting to read. I hoped that the end of the story would have been happier.

Taken 2

I watched a movie called Taken 2 which was sequel for movie taken. It was an action film and I liked it. The movie was pretty much same kind than first taken.
Plot of the movie is protagonist Bryan Mills whos actor is Liiam Nelson killed lot of people in first movie because they had kidnapped his daughter and now father of one of the boys whom Bryan killed wants to revenge. His plan is kill whole Bryan`s family when they are holiday in Istanbul.
Unfortunately, Taken 2 is mostly an empty retread that, despite some high-octane action scenes. If viewer have seen Taken he can guess almost everything what is going to happen in Taken 2. The story is less engaging, character dynamics are less believable, and action set-pieces are less thrilling. If viewer is person who merely want to see Bryan snap necks and crash cars this movie will be good for him.
The expanded roles for both Grace and Janssen who play roles of Bryan`s daughter and ex wife offer a little in the moment to moment enjoyment of the film as the larger family story is often melodramatic and relies heavily on familiar platitudes. In movie there are nothing else than one man`s army who kills every bad people and at the end goes happily home with his family.
After all the movie was huge disappointment and much worse than the first movie.
If you have nothing to do you may watch this once but it will not be good entertainment.

A Shocking Accident

A Shocking Accident is a short story written by Grahman Greene. It tells of one young men, called Jerome whose father died in a accident. Jerome was just a nine when it happened. He was at school when the headmaster, Mr Wordsworth invited him to her office. Jerome had no fear of trouble. Mr Wordsworth told that Jerome’s aunt has called her that Jerome’s father had been an accident. It was a bad accident. His father had died in Naples when he was walking at street and a pig fell on him from the balconie. After that Jerome rehearsed how to tell the story of his father’s dead. He was afraid that everone would laugh at him. He got engaged with a girl named Sally, but he hadn’t told to her how his father had died. How would he tell for Sally that story without her starting to laugh? However one day Sally heard how Jerome’s father died, but she didn’t laugh at all.

The main charecter is Jerome. His father was so important to Jerome and he worshipped him. Mr Wordsworth is a headmaster at Jerome’s school. He told bad news to Jerome. According to dialogue it was easy for Mr Wordsworth to tell bad news to Jerome. He almost started laughing. Jerome answered to him ”What happened to the pig?” So he didn’t take his fathers death so tragicly. At least he didn’t show any signs of sadness during dialogue. Jerome’s aunt had no sense of humour. His aunt told an accident to headmaster and Jerome’s fiancee. Sally, Jerome’s fiancee was twentyfive years old and her father was a doctor.

Jerome created two different ways how to tell his fathers death at school without everyone laughing. ”My father was killed by a pig”, was a shorter method. Other method was a little bit longer, he would explain that accident more.

Sally’s final commet is important, because Jerome had worried all the time if Sally will laugh. But she didn’t laugh. She only wondered ”What happened to the poor pig?”. That was the same question that Jerome asked from the headmaster when he heard about the accident. But what really happened to the pig? Jerome said that ”They almost certainly had it for dinner”. I also think that they ate it.

I think that this story was really wierd. When I read it, I thought ”What, he was killed by a pig?! Did I read right?” But it was a good story when I realized it.

Law Abiding Citizen

Law Abiding Citizen was first released in North America in 2009. The film is an intense thriller and it is directed by F. Gary Grey. To put it simply the film is a classic battle between the good and the evil.

There is two main characters. Jamie Foxx stars the Philadelphia district attorney called Nick. He is a well-to-do attorney who lives a happy life with his wife. Gerrard Butler plays the role of Clyde, the evil of the film. Law Abiding Citizen begins with a cruel murder. Clyde is forced to watch when two murderers kill his family. Our attorney Nick gets the case. The first killer is sentenced to death, but the second one doesn’t confess,so Nick needs to make a deal with him: no death penalty.

After prologue Clyde gets angry with the system. He hunts for revenge. Committing a murder Clyde is imprisoned. But it doesn’t stop him. Many murders are still about to happen while Clyde is in prison. Does he have an accomplish or only unlimited resources and such a clever mind?

The camerawork of the film is just like in other thrillers but it works. Everything is dark and chilly. The colors are very much faded. With the soundtrack the film creates a creepy feeling. It is a big part of the excitement.

I was surprised because the film wasn’t rated that good at the IMDb (only 7,3/10). I liked it very much myself. The main thing that fascinated me was that Clyde was always a step ahead of authorities. It was spooky to watch all the murders to happen and Clyde just sat confidently in his cell with a little bit mad and cold smile on his face. I would recommend Law Abiding Citizen to those who seek after excitement and a bit of fear. The plot is pretty complicated and I didn’t fully understand it until the second viewing but it din’t make any difference to my opinion of the film.
