harry potter and the half-blood prince

Harry Potter and the half-blood prince is the sixth novel in the Harry Potter series. It’s written by J.K.Rowling. The book tells about Harry Potter, 16 years old boy, who is a wizard.

The plot in this book is not simple. If the reader hasn’t read all the previous books, it would be impossible to understand the things that happens.

The protagonist of this book is Harry Potter. He is brave, friendly and loyal, he always protects his friends. Other important characters are his best friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, his headmaster Albus Dumbledore, and the other students of Hogwarts school.

Harry Potter has antagonists too;  lord Voldemort, who killed Harry’s parents when he was a baby, Severus Snape, the teacher of the defence against the dark arts and Draco Malfoy, a boy from another class.

The environment of Harry Potter and the half-bloof prince is beautiful Hogwarts’ school in the middle of Scotland’s forests, next to clear water lake. The setting is descriptioned well and it’s easy to empathize to it.

The narrator of the book is mainly extradiegetic but there’s also sometimes third person omniscient. I think them fit to this book very well and it is easy to follow the plot.

I think the main point, also the theme in this book is to realize that the persons aren’t always that kind of they act. In this book the protagonist grows up,  falls in love and finds out who are his real friends, that’s the fact why it is so easy to identify with this book; the problems behind the story are so similar to the life of normal young people.

This book has also very much personification, because everything happens in the magicworld. Books can speak, people in the pictures are moving and something like that. This book really has magic and is very fantastic and entertaining.
