I read a novel ”Full Stop”, which is written by Alecia McKenzie. The novel tells about the letters, which are for Carmen-woman to her grandmother, Scottie, and vice versa. They write for example a God, Carmen´s brother and her mother and grandmother´s healthy. They give a good image of their characters on their letters.
Carmen is an adult woman who has a husband and she helps her grandmother, who has been like her mom almost her whole life. She sends to her the money altough she uses them the wrong issues.
Grandmother is a Christian and she prays a lot. She seems a little hypocritical and she talks about Carmen´s mother badly but still asked Carmen to talk to her. She doesn’t write the whole story of Carmen`s childhood, when her grandchild has asked that.
I think the main point is when Carmen meets her mother and hears a story which grandmother has told very differently. She doesn`t believe her mother but she still becomes uncertain. Her brother doesn`t keep in touch with their grandmother and he could know the right reason of living with grandmother.
The novel was quite short and includes only the letters but it was easy to read and the length fits for the story well. I think it was very interesting.
