World Invasion: Battle Los Angeles

This sci-fi film was released in 2011. It was directed by Jonathan Liebsman and the story was written by Chris Bertolini.

The film tells about an attack on Earth by extraterrestrial beings. The interstellar soldiers want to get all the water from Earth and therefore they had to erase the leading species. The squad of William Martinez (Ramon Rodriguez) including the veteran Michael Nantz (Aaron Eckhart), who was already retired, is the pivotal team in the fight against the breach. During the battle they experience great losses of soldiers, but they keep on fighting.

The first thing that should be mentioned about the movie is the teamwork of the squad through the whole movie. All the characters stand up for each other and give a helping hand when one is needed. The team members and even the civilians are risking their own lives for common good. And this point impresses me the most, because it’s important to have friends who would put their hands in the fire for you.

Secondly I want to point out the whole story. The timespan of the battle is only two days, but it’s fascinating, how all the happenings are fitted into such a short period of time. It’s normal that the wars in movies last for weeks or even years, but this one is compact and in my opinion it clarifies the already easy followable plot.

One more thing I want to tell is the awesome animations and special effects. Even if the movie was quite violent especially against the human, all the explosions and shots and impacts worked seamlessly together and there wasn’t a single scene where could’ve been a doubt about the ”reality” of what happened.

I think this is a awesome movie which tells about faithfulness to each other and never giving up. I’d recommend this movie to everyone who, if only in the smallest way, likes ski-fi movies. Though the atmosphere was at some points very sad, the rest of the group could make my day in the end of the movie.
