8 Mile is American movie based on 1995 year Detroid, which tells about young white rapper called ”B-rabbit” who wants to become famous. He works at an automotive factory and he is only white rapper trying to rap battle against black people. He has a lot problems in his privacy life and with other rappers. He still have couple friends who help him trough. In the end he destroys Papa Doc (titleholder) with his sick freestyle.
Movie is slightly based on real life of famous rapper Marshall Mathers aka. Eminem or Slim Shady. Eminem presents B-rabbit and movie also includes other well-known rappers like Xzibit and Proof
Soundtrack is awesome and huge part of the movie. There is a lot good songs from the famous rappers like 2pac, the notorious B.I.G, Nas, 50 cent, Jay-Z, D12, Xzibit, Obie Trice etc. and of course Eminem himself. ”lose yourself” by Eminem is legendary song which was made to this movie.
Movie doesn’t have any visual special effects but it still has the common effects such sound of punches and gun reloading etc.
Movie was directed by Curtis Hanson and released on November 8, 2002 with budget of 41 million dollars. It lasts 110 minutes.
I have watched this movie four times and it’s still good specially if you like rap music. It could have been made even better, it misses something maybe better acting or better camera working. Movie has received generally positive reviews and it deserves those.
