The Conjuring

The Conjuring, directed by James Wan and starring Lili Taylor as Carolyn Perron and Ron Livingstone as Roger Perron, is a horror movie which was released in 2013. To cut a long story short, the movie tells about the Perron’s family, which includes parents Carolyn and Roger, and as much as five daughters;  Andrea, Nancy, Christine, April and Cindy Perron. They all have been menaced by ghosts since they moved into an old, bit creaky, rural house. The house and it’s surroundings are, of course, the reason why the family’s life changes at short notice.

Albeit I think the movie was pretty boring and foreseeable due to millions of clichès it had, I enjoyed watching it. It’s probably because of, granted that I’ve seen many horror movies, this was the first one I watched without being frightened at all, which may also tell you how lame it must have been. Some of these of clichès were, for example, that exorcists Lorraine and Ed Warren found this case the worst they’ve ever known, the house, where the Perrons live, belonged to an witch, and the house had a cellar which was obstructed before children found it – and, of course, the cellar was the centre of the evilness. Actually, every single change in the storyline was easily deduced, which makes me think what was the director thinking when he made this movie?
Anyway, the filming was pretty good, and the actors and actresses did their job well, but this movie would’ve needed something more from them, too, to be impressive. I didn’t feel much sympathy for anyone, and I wasn’t even able to put my soul into the movie and it’s multi-phased story, but I really appreciate that this is not ruined with jumpscares. There was some scenes in the movie, which I couldn’t connect to the main story. As an illustration, the first scene in the whole movie is about Ed and Lorraine showing a film about one cursed item, and the same item is shown later few times.

Finally, the movie has an interesting storyline in it’s own way, but likely will be kick in the teeth if watcher is looking for a horror movie with heavy feel. This doesn’t seem to have any kind of tone at all. This could be good for extremely skittish person only.

Cloud Atlas

Do you know the good feeling after watching a great movie? Being more or less of a movie ”freak” I get this feeling a lot. One day as I was strolling down the movie section of a supermarket I found this movie called ”Cloud Atlas”. I instantly started reading the back of the box as I saw the familiar faces of Tom Hanks and Halle Berry on the cover. Not only was this movie loaded with these two well known actors but it also featured Ben Wishaw (my upcoming favorite Q in the James Bond franchise), Hugh Grant and Jim Broadbent. I had to buy it. When I got home I curled up on my bed and surrounded myself with a mountain of pillows and blankets (as usual) and stated the movie.

After watching the movie I felt more than a little baffled as this three hour spectacle had literally melted my brain. Don’t get me wrong the movie was really good (at least when you watch it the second time) but at the same time one of the most complex and confusing storylines ever written. The story is about a reincarnation of a soul travelling through different times (six to be exact). The earliest story is set on a voyage over the Pacific in the 19th century. The second one is about a talented young composer in the 1930’s Britain followed by a female journalist who’s investigating suspicious action in a 1970’s nuclear power plant in the US. The story moves on into modern day (2012) as a farce about a publisher’s imprisonment in a nursing home and then the story changes into a sci-fi-like thriller set in the 2144’s Seoul. Last bit of the story happens in the post-apocalyptic Hawaii, where quite adorable tribesmen try to interact with more advanced people and at the same time try to stay alive with cannibals hunting them.

Now if you think that was a lot to digest, bare with me, there’s more. You see, not only is the connection between the stories incredibly thin but also every one of them are cut into pieces and scrambled across the timeline of the movie. And by this time you should know why I was so confused. Due the fact that the movie actually was scrambled, I thought I’d be fun to explain the stories unchronologically. I’d like to begin with the one about futuristic South Korea.

The story is set in rebuilt capital, that is called Neo Seoul (New Seoul), because the old one is almost completely flooded. A clone waitress starts thinking differently compared to her zombie-like sisters. They all work like slaves in a diner called Papa Song, start their day getting new robes, work like crazy all day and end their night with a juice box -looking meal they call ”soap”. The curious waitress, Somni, begins to be envious towards her promoted colleagues and to be interested in the outside world (that she has never seen). When a waitress after waitress is promoted and transferred into the mysterious unknown outside the doors of Papa Song, she gets a chance of her own to get out of the diner.

When the story moves back into the 70’s, a small-business journalist, Luisa Rey, is investigating a conspiracy case in a new nuclear power plant in San Francisco. She meets Rufus Sixsmith, a nuclear scientist, who has vital information for her about the events happening in the plant. Later on they discover that the plant’s owner is plotting to blow up his plant and make it look like an accident in order to get huge profits from different oil businesses. Later Sixsmith is shown with old letters from his English lover from the 30’s. In this moment the audience should realize that Rufus Sixsmith already featured in the story set in the 1930’s England.

This story is really about a talented young bisexual composer Robert Frobisher who is dying to get an assistant job from a widely known master composer. He manages to get the job and after a while starts working with his own new masterpiece called ”Cloud Atlas” (the record is also mentioned in the story about the 70’s). After being completely mocked by his employer Robert runs away with his unfinished work and hides somewhere in England (probably Cambridge). He finally finishes his composing and decides to end his own life with a pistol in a bathtub.

Then we move on to the ”latest” story, happening in a post-apocalyptic Hawaii after 2300. The world has regressed and the main characters are presented as odd tribesmen speaking with a funky accent and trying to survive from a cannibalistic enemy tribe. Later on a strange foreigner arrives on their island on a mission to find an abandoned star gate in the mountain the tribesmen shun. One of the villagers unwillingly takes the stranger to the mountain. It is revealed that the tribesmen consider Somni as a goddess.

The earliest story is about a voyage over the Pacific in the 19th century. A young lawyer, Adam Ewing, a potential slave owner, is returning home from a journey to the Chatham Islands where he was supposed to make a business arrangement with Reverend Gilles Horrox for his father-in-law. On the way back he meets a Maori slave stowaway who claims to be an excellent sailor and certain about the fact that he is able to earn his place on the ships crew. Later on they become friends.

And finally the one that is dated to modern day (2012). A small-business publisher, Timothy Cavendish, earns a lot of money from his latest publishing but ends up in huge debts after spending a lot of his profits. This farce-like story moves on to him asking money from his brother with no good outcome. The brother locks Timothy in a nursing home. The rest of the story is about him and few other elders trying to escape the home.

This movie gives you an intoxicating sense of individual purpose, when everything is connected across the years by a letter, a film, a diary or a book that passes on from one predecessor’s thought to another’s. It also asks if the eternal repetition can be changed by love and sacrifice. In my opinion Cloud Atlas belongs alongside such mystical works as The Life of Pi and Inception.

Cloud Atlas is a story of a reincarnation of a soul travelling across times. It is loaded with different kinds of symbols, metaphors and hidden meanings. It’s a story about love, devotion, passion, friendship, faith, courage, rebellion and much more. I have to say Cloud Atlas was one of those movies that are loaded with absolutely everything, only one thing separates this one from the others: it was executed perfectly. And even if you were bored whilst watching this movie you still get this mixed feeling of confusion and happiness through it. And I like that the movie is trying to give us the message that even when you pass away your actions and choices take part in another time and place no matter who you are. And even though it’s a quite rough movie to watch it gives you this heartwarming thought that even your smallest actions can really matter in this universe. If I’d have to explain this movie in one word, it probably would be overwhelming, for obvious reasons.

When you decide to watch this movie the second time you understand so much more about the connections and secrets of the film. This is just one of those films that you can watch over and over again and always find out something new. I just have to say well done, Wachowski siblings and Tom Tykwer for directing this weird work of art – a masterpiece like The Cloud Atlas sextet in the movie. Now I’m not sure if I will ever understand all of the little details in the movie. Maybe I should watch it again and again and again but we all know that is not going to happen – at least, not in this life.

The Last Song

The Last Song is a film based on the novel The Last Song written by Nicholas Sparks. Produced by Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot and directed by Julie Anne Robinson. Starring Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth and Greg Kinnear. The premiere of the movie was on March 31, 2010.

The film is about a girl named Ronnie (played by Miley Cyrus) who has to spend a summer with his father, (played by Greg Kinnear) whom she doesn’t know almost at all. After been there awhile Ronnie runs into a boy named Will (played by Liam Hemsworth), when he spills a milkshake on her. After many scenes they eventually fall in love with each other, which is kind of obvious.

The Last Song is quite similar to the other films which base on the novels of Nicholas Sparks: romantic, dramatic, instructive and sensitive. The Last Song is coming of age teen romantic drama film. Coming of age is a genre of teen films which focus on the psychological and moral growth of a protagonist. In the film it shows well because the protagonist, Ronnie, learns that: “sometimes you have to be apart from people you love but that doesn’t mean you love them any less, sometimes it even makes you love them more.” The film has mostly a romantic atmosphere but it varies through the movie. Drama occurs in the film when Ronnie is struggling with the difficulties with her father and Will. Luckily Ronnie’s little brother Jonah (played by Bobby Coleman) brings a little humor into the film.

After releasing the film it became quite popular. I think the main secret for its popularity was the writer of the book -Nicholas Sparks, who is also my personal favorite- and of course the main actors. I think most of the fans of Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth made sure that they’d go to see the film, including me.

The camerawork of the film was nicely done because it made the film more impassioned and genuine. There were no special effects in the film but the music made it feel more sensitive and you could almost find yourself thinking about the things as your own. The Last Song includes songs singed by Miley Cyrus, which made it more intimate for me to watch.

I really loved The Last Song because it was easy to identify with Ronnie, maybe because she is the same age as me and was going through similar things. The film evoked especially empathy in me. I found myself crying several times whether it was the tears of joy or not. I would highly recommend the film for sensitive people who love romance and weepy scenes.

All told, I think the main message of the film is that you can get through anything if you set your mind to it. And that we’re not perfect, any of us, even not the ones we love.

World Invasion: Battle Los Angeles

This sci-fi film was released in 2011. It was directed by Jonathan Liebsman and the story was written by Chris Bertolini.

The film tells about an attack on Earth by extraterrestrial beings. The interstellar soldiers want to get all the water from Earth and therefore they had to erase the leading species. The squad of William Martinez (Ramon Rodriguez) including the veteran Michael Nantz (Aaron Eckhart), who was already retired, is the pivotal team in the fight against the breach. During the battle they experience great losses of soldiers, but they keep on fighting.

The first thing that should be mentioned about the movie is the teamwork of the squad through the whole movie. All the characters stand up for each other and give a helping hand when one is needed. The team members and even the civilians are risking their own lives for common good. And this point impresses me the most, because it’s important to have friends who would put their hands in the fire for you.

Secondly I want to point out the whole story. The timespan of the battle is only two days, but it’s fascinating, how all the happenings are fitted into such a short period of time. It’s normal that the wars in movies last for weeks or even years, but this one is compact and in my opinion it clarifies the already easy followable plot.

One more thing I want to tell is the awesome animations and special effects. Even if the movie was quite violent especially against the human, all the explosions and shots and impacts worked seamlessly together and there wasn’t a single scene where could’ve been a doubt about the ”reality” of what happened.

I think this is a awesome movie which tells about faithfulness to each other and never giving up. I’d recommend this movie to everyone who, if only in the smallest way, likes ski-fi movies. Though the atmosphere was at some points very sad, the rest of the group could make my day in the end of the movie.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies

The film The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is the third part of the highly succeeded fantasy-adventure trilogy which is based on The Hobbit, or There and Back Again written by J. R. R. Tolkien. The book was published on 21 September 1937. The film was published 17 December in the United States. The film was directed by Peter Jackson and written by Jackson, Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens, and Guillermo del Toro. It was Produced by New Line Cinema, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and WingNut Films, and distributed by Warner Bros.

Personally I liked the camerawork a lot just because it was just as I like it because they made it so you would feel like you would be in the movie. In example there was scenes where the camera gets crushed under falling rocks and also as if you were there in the middle of the hysteria caused by fleeing innocents. The soundtrack was obviously superb just as in The Lord of The Rings films, which represents the time after The Hobbit. The soundtrack had strong ambiences what made the scenes and events much more thrilling. The special effects in the film were exquisite. For instance the fearsome dragon Smaug was excellently made to look vivacious. As well as the fire that Smaug exhaled over the town of Laketown. Also all the ”orcs” were made to look perfectly realistic.

In my opinion Martin Freeman did a magnificent job on capturing the main character’s, Bilbo Baggings’ sipirt of a noble and sincere hobbit. I also liked the acting by Richard Armitage as Thorin Oakenshield. Armitage did a great job when acting like he has completely lost all of his empathy and become completely mad. But still there is one that stands out from everyone else and he is Ian McKellen as Gandalf the Grey. I don’t know why but I have liked him the most of all characters since the beginning of The Lords of The Rings. And despite his age during The Hobbit he did an excellent job in all of the fighting scenes. I also liked the dwarves with their own silly sense of humor.

The film started with a few minutes long battle where Smaug incinerates Laketown and is after a while killed. The fact that killing the dragon didn’t take anything else but one shot with one big arrow which hits perfectly, disappoints me. But of course Smaug had to be killed or else he would’ve probably made the whole Middle-Earth a big wasteland. What really annoyed me though was the idiotic decisions and the lack of empathy of Thorin Oakenshield. Actually I’m not sure if a single big fight between the good and the bad is enough to cover a two and a half hour film. But to be honest it doesn’t really bother me in any way. I enjoyed watching the movie whatsoever and nothing else matters to me.

Confessions of a shopaholic

The movie Confessions of a shopaholic is a romantic comedy that’s based on the two first books of the Shopaholic book serie written by Sophie Kinzella. There’s just one movie even though there are seven Shopaholic books. The movie is directed by P.J Hogan and it’s published 2009.
The movie starts with a little sneak back to Rebeccas(Isla Fisher) childhood. Her mother always bought her cheap and ugly clothes and that explains why Rebecca as an adult is like she is. As you can guess from the movie name Rebecca is a shopaholic. The movie is all about following her life. She gets a job from a finansial magazine, but infact she doesn’t care or know anything about finansial things. She wanted the job just to get easier to work for a fashion magazine. She has a problem because she has a lot of debt. During the movie she tries to solve her problems but at the same time she falls in love with her boss Luke(Hugh Dancy). Rebecca is really energetic and a little silly. During te movie she struggels with meny funny things.
The movie is a bit predictable. It followed pretty mutch the formul of the romantic comedy genre. It’s almost always the same: the main character has a problem and at some point she or he falls in love and after all gets the problem solved. While watching this movie you don’t have to think all the time and try to understand the ”message” of the movie. The movie topic isn’t emotive and doesen’t really try to amaze the viewer. The acters are really good and they are credible and look good together. And for a finnish watcher the movie is very funny because there is quite much references to Finland and one finnish actor(Janne Virtanen).
I myself like to watch this kind of movies. It’s just nice to watch a funny film where you can laugh and it’s also nice because of watching the clothes that the actors use. Because it’s a comedy and not for example a fantasy movie there aren’t any massive speciall effects but the movie was made good . Some of comedys are made so that they look a little cheap and i think that that kind of movies are really easily movies that people don’t want to watch till the end. I would deffinetly watch more Shopaholic movies if they were made. For people who want to watch movies wich have a meaning this movie perhaps isn’t the right decision but for people who want to watch ”nonsense” movies this might be a good one. In my opinion this movie is directed more to girls than boys.

Tomorrow Never Dies

Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) is the eighteenth spy film in the James Bond series, and the second to star Pierce Brosnan as the fictional MI6 agent James Bond. The film is Directed by Roger Spottiswoode.

The film follows Bond as he attempts to stop effective media mogul Elliot Carter, the head of the Carter Media Group Network (CMGN) , who begins his plans to use the encoder to provoke war between Chine and the United Kingdom and initiate World War 3 as well.  With Bond’s new technologies and his natural sense of humor he managed with the job very well despite some wounds and bruises he got during the secret mission. Of course the producer did not let him die . -Maybe it was a little bit closer but not this time. In this film Bond is not so coward as he was in the precious movies. He fought to the end and victory.  As Roger Moore said: ” Pierce had charm and charisma and with a natural sense of fun ”.  I totally agree with Roger Moore. He definitely had a natural sense of fun and even more ! He was totally ruthless which gave more effect to the movie.

There were many things that surprised me in this movie for example the technology! I was really choked when I saw this great technology made in year 1997! Especially I was affected by an old phone with some new equipment on it and really hardcore armored car with voice guidance. And the another thing that i did not mention was the classic James Bond valuable black and white tuxedo.

I enormously admired all these stunt action moments that came over and over again.  This movie is worth watching for all people who like shooting action movies and of course are aficionado of secret agent 007 . I really liked the movie and it is one of my favorite James Bond movie this far.

Enchanted

Enchanted is a romantic fantasy movie (2007) with a twist of comedy. Produced by Walt Disney Pictures with Barry Sonnenfeld and Josephson Entertaiment. In Enchanted a real world and an animated one are brilliantly mixed together. Might sound like a chaos, but what a great chaos it is! Director Kevin Lima has managed to include something for everyone in just 107 minutes. Not to mention the wonderful actors, who have made this beautiful love story come true. Leading actors of the film are Amy Adams (Giselle), Idina Menzel (Nancy Tremaine), James Marsden (Prince Edward), Patrick Dempsey (Robert Philip) and Rachel Covey (Morgan Philip).

Like in almost every love story there is some kind of trouble before ending up being together. Giselle and Prince Edward are in love. They are just about to get married, but on the way to the altar Giselle meets an old lady who changes the plan. The old lady pushes Giselle to a magical wishing well and she somehow ends up standing in middle of the Times Square in New York. Soon she notices that her and our world are totally different. People are rude and not really sympathetic at all. But Giselle is just about to change Robert Philip´s life besides her own. Philip is in a cab telling her daughter Morgan that he is going to propose his girlfriend Nancy when everything changes. They meet Giselle and Rachel ends up getting a different stepmother than was expected at first. Giselle manages to fill the missing gap in the Philip´s family life. Morgan gets to know how it feels to be able to shop with a mother and Robert gets some light into his busy life as a lawyer.

Humor is sprinkled all over the place. Giselle is destroying all the fabrics in the Philip´s family apartment and making new dresses for herself. She cleans the whole apartment with some help of little animals and this obviously is almost maddening to Robert. Like in every Disney movie there is lots of singing and it´s something Giselle loves to do too. With this kind of action she gets a lot of attention even in New York. Giselle´s actress Amy Adams sings with her stunning voice and it gives you little chills. Composer Alan Menken and lyricist Stephen Schwartz have done an awesome job with the songs of Enchanted.

Enchanted reminds me of some previous stories Disney has produced. Snow White and Cinderella, to be more precise. Like in Snow White in Enchanted there is also lots of little animals as Giselle´s friends and helpers. She even managed to see one of the dwarfs from the Snow White. It is also easy to find connection between Cinderella and Enchanted. In the end of the Enchanted Giselle loses her glass shoe. There is the same idea behind losing the shoe as there is in Cinderella. Prince is meant to find his princess with the help of that shoe and this is what happens in the Enchanted as well. Some references to Little Red Riding Hood are also noticeable.

Overall I truly enjoyed watching Enchanted and I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes watching magical stories. I don´t usually even like to watch this kind of movies, but this movie made me change my mind. The great camerawork and the special effects make sure that you won´t get bored during the movie. On the other hand as a child I would have been little disappointed about the fact that the animated world suddenly changes into a real world. Lots of children prefer animated movies over acted ones.

A Beautiful Mind

My friend recommended me to watch this movie, because it is psychological and I wanted to know more about mental illness. Before seeing the film, I didn’t have any kind of anticipation, but then I surprised totally.

A Beautiful Mind is directed by Rohn Howard. It is biographical drama, and it tells about John Nash’s life and time when he becomes Nobel Laureate in Economics. In 1947 John goes the university. He was supposed to leave alone, but suddenly his old friend appears and they start to live in the same apartment. Over time, they became best friends. John gets a secret job from Pentagon, because he is a genius in mathematics. Although John is little bit shy, a beautiful woman, John’s student, falls in love with him. However some day John is noted schizopgrenic, but his wife, Alicia Larde, helps him with illness. The plot of movie is really beautiful, but at the same time horrible, because it lets the audience see into schizophrenic’s mind.

John Nash plays Russell Crowe, whose performance is brilliant. He acts so realistically schizophrenic that without his performance the film could have been totally flop. The scene when he fights against hallucinations after long therapies, are so distressing. Also other scenes are very well acted and directed. First even viewer don’t know which is real and which is hallucination. It was surprising to realize at the end of the movie that some things were just hallucinations for John. This made the film interesting. I think this film really captures the audience. I suppose that these two leading roles are just right casted for Jennifer Connelly and Russell Crowe.
Soundtrack was basic, I didn’t pay attention for it. It sounded good in the scenes, but I wouldn’t listen to it by myself. On the other hand, music creates a certain kind of atmosphere to the film. So if the scenes had some other kind of music, the scenes’ atmosphere would have been different. A Beautiful Mind -movie doesn’t have special effects like stunts or explosions, but it has number screens which flickered when they were touched. I didn’t doubt any time that they wouldn’t be real, because they looked really real. In addition scenes when John saw hallucinations. They hadn’t been made badly, because like I said, first I didn’t even realize that they were unreal.

A Beautiful Mind has been recognized with four Oscars in 2002, for example ”Best Picture” and ”Directing” -awards. And I’m not surprised why. Music and camera work is really advanced. Even though I think this film was really good and rousing, I can’t tell more about the atmosphere because it is so marvelous. I think A Beautiful Mind is not like other dramas or comedies. The story line of this movie is so much more different than other movies. Usually I don’t remember happened to the main characters, but now I’ll remember it for a long time. All in all, I don’t know how describe the film, because the story line and characters and everything else are things which everyone should see with their own eyes.

The Dark Knight

I watched Christopher Nolan’s movie called The Dark Knight. Well actually, I’ve seen it for seven times during the past three years. In my opinion, it is one of the greatest action films ever made and not only because of the handsome Mr. Batman.

The Dark Knight is the second movie of the Batman trilogy in which the Gotham’s hero gets to know his soon-to-be arch enemy, Joker. The whole plot simplified could be summarized in a few sentences: Joker, who presumably suffers from mental health issues, creates some anarchy and chaos only to entertain himself. He terrorizes Gotham and its citizens to stamp down order and piece. All he wants is to watch the world burn. The beloved savior, Batman, fights against Joker’s calling to create mayhem, but soon realizes that his foe isn’t one of the criminals who run after money and who could be defeated with force or weaponry. The tricky clown only wants to play cat and mouse with his opponent and is going to do that everlastingly without killing Batman.

Characters living in Gotham are originally known from comics and Tim Burton’s movie trilogy before Nolan’s version of them. In my opinion is the latest Joker played by Heath Ledger absolutely the best and he leaves Jack Nicholson’s version of Joker in the shade. Ledger acts out the notorious anarchist perfectly and causes chills to every viewer. It is rumoured, that this particular role caused him anxiety and eventually his sudden death in 2008 just before the movie’s premiere. The truth is that he spent six weeks in a dark hotel room all by himself trying to bring out his inner Joker right before the filming started. He really found the madness inside of him and succeeded in bringing the psychopath killer to the big screen. I wasn’t the only one to praise Ledger’s performance for he was granted an Oscar after his sudden death caused by overdose of sleeping pills.

Casting in The Dark Knight is flawless, Christian Bale as Batman was brilliant choice and other actors playing the lead roles succeeded also. But the real honor of the film’s huge success goes to Ledger’s Joker. The character himself is very compelling and his hatred towards other criminals who kill for money is an unusual and interesting feature. ”It’s not about money, it’s about sending a message…Everything burns”, said by Joker while setting an enormous amount of money on fire, is one indication of his urge to give Gotham good criminals who don’t fancy wealth. Joker’s utterances in the film are legendary and it’s kind of his thing to be one sharp-tongued and sassy thorn in Batman’s flesh. ”I believe, whatever doesn’t kill you, simply makes you… Stranger.” ”You see madness, as you know, is just like gravity… All it takes is a little push.” ”Why so serious?” There are many undying lines that Heath Ledger as Joker has brought to global renown. Spectators love villains like Joker who are absolutely insane but somehow very irresistible. Maybe it’s his look, all that smudged makeup, outrageously colourful clothes or his green greasy hair that gets us interested in him. Besides that, he has one of the most amusing yet creepy laughters in the film history. There is only one thing that bothers me in casting. In the first film, Batman begins, there was another actress playing Bruce Wayne’s alias Batman’s sweetheart than in the second film.

The soundtrack of The Dark Knight is one of its best sides. It’s made by Hans Zimmer, who has also composed the soundtrack of The Lion King and Pirates of the Caribbean as well as Sherlock Holmes and he has won eight Oscars. Music in The Dark Knight is truly oppressive, devastating but in all its gloominess very beautiful. It includes lots of powerful string instruments. Especially Joker’s theme is really creepy and every time in the film when Joker starts telling the story behind his scars, there starts playing a growing voice made by violin in the background. When he reaches the end of his story all orchestra plays a very low and sudden voice which really gives me chills. So in my view is the soundtrack wonderfully done and it really fits with the film’s atmosphere. Come to think of it, the whole movie is worth praising. It is one of my all time favourite action films and will always be. No one can ever act with such passion like Heath Ledger did back in 2008 or make a better trilogy than Christopher Nolan did. There is to come a new Batman movie with new actors in it in a few years and I’m a bit prejudiced. Is a new version of the beloved story really necessary? We’ll see.
