Characters

Chelios is little bit unstable hitman with rough childhood and problems to
control his anger. Perfect fighter and killing manchine so I don’t really
wonder that he managed to survive.

Camerawork/ soundeffects
Camera man really did know his job so I am satisfied with the camerawork.
Soundeffects did their job too just the way they should be doing. Musics
were good and also sound of dying people and explosions.

Special effects

Special effects were so good that I sometimes thought that I am in the
movie. It was really fabulous.

James Bond: The World Is Not Enough

The film is made in 1999. I watched this movie last monday as it came from the TV and it was really good. I?ve seen it before though, but most James Bond -films get better and better when you watch them again. The first time I saw it was probably when I was 10 years old, in 2005. My favourite actor of the films is Pierce Brosnan, but I like Sean Connery too.
The plot of the movie goes like this:
The story begins as James Bond is sent to retrieve Sir Robert Kings money from a Swiss banker. Bond gets the money and returns to MI6 headquarters. There the money is retrieved to King, but as King goes to get his money from the safe they are held in, his pin on his chest explodes and burns all of the money. Bond gets after the assassin which tries to escapes by boat but crashes on the shore and gets into hot air balloon. Bond hangs on the rope, which is hanging from the balloon and offers the assassin protection. Assassin refuses Bonds offer and blows the balloon with herself in it. After that James Bond is assigned to protect Elektra King from a dangerous terrorist named Renard. Renard has taken a bullet to his brain when one other agent from MI6 tried to take him down on a previous mission. Renard survived, but the bullet in his brain has weakened his senses so much that he doesn?t feel pain. Bond goes after Renard in Kazakhstan all alone and meets american nuclear physicist Christmas Jones. What a funny name! James Bond and Christmas. After they get make it back to MI6 headquarters, they discover that Renard has a nuclear submarine. Finally they get to the submarine and wipes Renard out and the submarine explodes underwater.
I think the camerawork and the special effects were amazing and very successful. The film is an action film but it has elements of detective story. I love the soundtrack of all the movies but I think the best soundtrack in the series is in Golden Eye.

Twilight

I chose Twilight movie because I’ve watched it many times and read the book.

A Plot

The film tells about a teenager Isabella Swan ( Kristen Stewart) who move to her father to the Forks when his mother move from Florida with her new husband. Bella meets a new boy at school Edward Cullen ( Robert Pattinson) and his family. Later, Bella falls in love with Edward, but she get a idea of  that Edward is a vampire. Cullens are playing baseball in the field and then there came three vampire: trackers James, Victoria and Laurent. Unlike the Cullens, they drink human blood. James begins to track down Bella when he get a idea that Bella is a human.James pretends to below the bell, that he has been kidnapped by her mother, and Bella should came to the balletic-studio, where she practiced ballet when she was young. Bella cames at the studio, but she realize  that James has cheated her. James bites Bella, but Edward take out the poison on Bellas body so she doesn`t change vampire. This is the beginning of Bella’s desire to become a vampire. Victoria wants to avenge the death of her partner.

Soundtrack

Film composition was make Carter Burwell. The designer chose the music for the soundtrack, but also Stephanie Meyer (writer who wrote the twilight books) was also chose the songs for the movie.

Genre

The Twilight genre is mixed of romance and fantasy.

My opinion about:

I think the book is more interesting than the movie. The book is told more detail than the movie has been played out, and anyway the book and the movie is quite a lot of differences between them. Movie actor choices have hit the button, because every actor is able to identify with its own role.I recommend the movie for young and mostly girls, who like good-looking men, vampires and a little drama.Twilight films have been a total of four in one of which has two parts, the second and final coming soon to theaters. But I think the first film is the best.

Miami Vice

Miami Vice is an American television crime drama series produced by Michael Mann. The series starred Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas as undercover detectives James ”Sonny” Crockett and Ricardo ”Rico” Tubbs. The series ran for five seasons on NBC from 1984–1989.

Unlike standard police shows, Miami Vice drew heavily upon 1980s New Wave culture and music. The show became noted for its heavy integration of music and visual effects to tell a story. It is recognized as one of the most influential television series of all time.

In keeping with the show’s namesake, most episodes focus on combating drug trafficking and prostitution. Episodes more often than not end in a large gun battle, claiming the lives of several criminals before they can be brought to justice. An undercurrent of cynicism and futility underlies the entire series. Most episodes were filmed in the South Beach section of Miami Beach, an area which, at the time, was full of poverty and crime.

Miami Vice is noted for its innovative use of stereo broadcast music, particularly countless pop and rock hits of the 1980s and the distinctive, synthesized instrumental music of composer Jan Hammer. While other television shows used made-for-TV music, Miami Vice would spend $10,000 or more per episode to buy the rights to original recordings. Getting a song played on Miami Vice was a boost to record labels and artists. Some of the artists who contributed their music to the show were Phil Collins, ZZ Top, Dire Straits, Pink Floyd, U2 etc.

Miami Vice is my favourite cop show on TV. I like it’s aesthetics and visual extravaganzas, which are heavily integrated to tell the story in each episode. Sure, the episode plots might sometimes be a tad boring, even repetitive. I also like 80’s music and Miami Vice has a lot of it.

Step up 4 revolution

I was in the movies watching Step up 4 revolution. I have seen all four Step up movies and liked them all. I think this movie didn`t make a lot of difference compared to the others but still it had it`s own story. Step up movies are all dance movies there is a lot of acting but it also involves many dance performances.

The plot in this movie was about how this girl named Emily wanted to become a dancer but her father didn`t accept it. Then Emily found out about a dance crew called The Mob wich she wanted to join in. The Mob wanted to infect to different things by doing dance shows in a places they weren`t allowed to go. Emily met this guy called Sean who is the leader of The Mob and they fell in love. Emily`s father is a rich house builder and he is going to build hotels to a places where many dancers from The Mob live. That is when The Mob including Emily, starts a riot against Emily`s father and his company. In the end everything went fine because Emily`s father didn`t build anything to the places where Emily`s friends live in.

The main charachters were Emily and Sean. Emily was from a rich family and had chances for a good education unlike Sean whose life was totally the opposite. The movie was a 3D so it had a very powerfull effects. Specially all the dance scenes looked awesome in 3D.

I also liked the music that was played in the performances. It was energetic and it suited all the dances. The places where the movie scenes where filmed were outstanding. They had used the lightings and the whole environment in a creative way.

All in all I think that the movie was worth watching.

The Back-up Plan

The Back-up Plan is a romantic comedy like the other, things just happen in a different order. In general, things happen like this: dating, love, marriage, family. The Back-up Plan movie things are upside down. Zoe (Jennifer Lopez) is already thirty and tired of waiting for true love, so she takes the lead and decide to have a baby. Before it’s too late. She wants to be a mother so she is preparing for a Back-up Plan. She goes to the doctor with her embryo implanted. The same day, Zoe meets Stan (Alex O´Loughlin) and find out that their chemistries are in place. Zoe’s life becomes more difficult when she is trying to cover up the early signs of pregnancy, and at the same time nurture their relationship. Zoe’s strange behavior raises Stan’s imagination. Zoe finally reveals the reason for behavior and Stan promises to stay next to Zoe. Zoe is hard to trust and believe that Stan will remain by her side no matter that the child is not biologically their common. Stan, however, treat the baby as his own, and is fully prepared for Zoe and the child’s behalf. How easy it is to fall in love, get married and start a family. When things go in the other way around, Zoe and Stan find able to cope with the difficulties that they belong together.

The Back-up Plan has been published in 2010. I like the movie because it is funny and perverse things happen in the order. The actors are great and fit their roles perfectly. Back-up plan is open-minded experience. Characters have been a lot of fun and the emotional. Minor characters are rare. The film focuses on only Zoe, Stan and the baby. And rightly so, this movie can not add anything. Simple is beautiful just the way it is. 305

The American Psycho

The most recent film that I’ve watched is probably the American Psycho. I’ve seen this particular film a numerous times but I decided to watch it again.

The plot itself goes like this; the main character, Patrick Bateman (played by Christian Bale) is a materialistic wealthy investment banker living in Manhattan in the late 1980′s. His life consists mostly of dining in fancy restaurants and practicing his materialistic behavior in his lifestyle, which includes a strict morning exercise and a beautification routine, his  extensive music collection and his taste for rather expensive designer clothes. Behind all this he commits rape, murder and torture.

I don’t want to write a more specific description of the plot as I want to avoid spoiling the movie for people that haven’t seen it yet.

The genre is pretty evident; it’s a thriller. More specifically, a satirical psychological thriller. You could even call it social horror if you will. Not much to say about this, it’s kind of obvious that the film is pretty peculiar and freaky from time to time. It can be quite hard to understand and it’s quite oppressive. As you might imagine, not everyone will like it and it is a rather violent and graphical film.

The camerawork is pretty straightforward, nothing special, nothing bad. Your usual good camerawork with no considerable flaws whatsoever. The camera is placed well within the scenes.

The soundtrack is composed by John Cale (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Cale) and it’s pretty fantastic althought I don’t know that much about movie soundtracks or orchestral music. There is not much to say about that either, the soundtrack that is, other than it fits the movie very nicely and really reinforces the atmosphere of the overall movie. Here is an example of the soundtrack in this particular movie; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTVwFlPI5go&feature=related

The special effects are quite detailed and well made. The most effects you see thought, are blood and other graphical events. There are not that much special effects in the scenes except for the lighting.

Overall, the movie is very good and enjoyable if you happen to like this kind of movies. It’s worth the watch.

Dark Shadows

Tim Burton’s newest film tells about Barnabas Collins (Johnny Depp) who lives in 1800-century. He used to love his maid Angelique Bouchard (Eva Green) but fells in love with another girl. Angelique comes jealous and reveals that she is a witch. She bewitches Barnabas loved one to make a suicide. When Barnabas tries to jump after her, she turns him into a vampire. Then Angelique and villages lock him to a chained coffin under the ground. In the year 1972 construction workers find the coffin and Barnabas becomes free. Soon he realizes that things have changed a lot and decides to meet his new relatives.

This film is based on gothic and humoristic soap opera made in seventies so there are also other supernatural creatures like werewolves, witches and zombies and black humor. I rented this film because I like Johnny Depp and films made by Tim Burton but I have to admit that I was little bit disappointed.

Storyline was little bit predictable and average. It was nice entertainment but I would not watch it again. Humor in this movie is based on differences between 1800-century and seventies. I liked most of the humor and Johnny Depp did great job in these parts. Main point of the story is about how Barnabas starts to revitalize Collins family’s mansion and fishing company. Beginning was actually really interesting but then storyline started to rush too much. Because of that ending was too unclear.

Characters in this movie stayed too distant to me. Barnabas good-looking witch-ex Angelique was really annoying and she always gets angry if she doesn’t get what she wants. But it was fun that Barnabas role was like old time Dracula. I liked his personality and way of speech. Though, he reminded me of Edward Scissorhands. In this movie are lots of sideroles and it was a shame that very interesting characters were only couple of minutes on the screen.

Johnny Depp managed well as usual in his role but there were also other good and well-known actors like Christopher Lee and Helena Bonham Carter. Surprising fact to me was that Alice Cooper also visits in this movie as himself. There were also cameo roles from original soap opera.

Props in this movie were very good. I liked the little village next to the sea with is called Collinsport (named by Collins family in 1800-century). There were lots of old cars, colorful houses and it really felt that they were in 1970-century. The mansion where Collins family lives was also nice because there were lots of ornaments and details.

If you are huge Johnny Depp or vampire fan I think that you should watch this movie, unless if you like the good storylines more than characters.

Sex And The City (1998-2004)

Sex And The City (so-called S.A.T.C.) is television series that bases on writer Candace Bushnell’s book of the same name and was originally aired at first time on 6th of July 1998 by HBO. S.A.T.C. is filmed by single camera set-up and it’s created by Darren Star. There is also two soundtrack-albums from Irma Records that are made for especially this television series and which contain tracks from various artists. Sex And The City represents blue comedy and romantic-dramedy at its best – The television series gained an explosive popularity, and overall six seasons (94 episodes) was produced.
S.A.T.C.’s main character, Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), writes a column, in which she ponders questions about herself, relationships, the differences between men and women, and life in general. S.A.T.C. is also narrated by Carrie and it is located to New Jersey, France and as you might guess, mainly in the New York City. There are also three close friends of Carrie’s who have a key role in S.A.T.C.: Charlotte York (Kristin Davis), Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon) and Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall) – three in their mid-thirties and one in her forties. In every episode, Carrie writes her column and makes the philosophical questions, that pop into her mind. The television series got a lot of attention because it deals with things that we do not dare to speak out loud. When you follow the series, you can see how their lives go forward and how their lives move on little by little.
Four single female New Yorkers took place in the hearts of women all over the world. Many were disappointed when it was announced on 2004 that the Sex And The City would not be produced anymore. Four years later, in May 2008 the television series was continued in the form of a movie, and after that also a second part of movie was released. In my opinion, the most memorable phrase Carrie says is at the end of the last season: “Later that day I got to thinking about relationships. There are those that open you up to something new and exotic, those that are old and familiar, those that bring up lots of questions, those that bring you somewhere unexpected, those that bring you far from where you started, and those that bring you back. But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you can find someone to love the you you love, well, that’s just fabulous.”
