Sex And The City (1998-2004)

Sex And The City (so-called S.A.T.C.) is television series that bases on writer Candace Bushnell’s book of the same name and was originally aired at first time on 6th of July 1998 by HBO. S.A.T.C. is filmed by single camera set-up and it’s created by Darren Star. There is also two soundtrack-albums from Irma Records that are made for especially this television series and which contain tracks from various artists. Sex And The City represents blue comedy and romantic-dramedy at its best – The television series gained an explosive popularity, and overall six seasons (94 episodes) was produced.
S.A.T.C.’s main character, Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), writes a column, in which she ponders questions about herself, relationships, the differences between men and women, and life in general. S.A.T.C. is also narrated by Carrie and it is located to New Jersey, France and as you might guess, mainly in the New York City. There are also three close friends of Carrie’s who have a key role in S.A.T.C.: Charlotte York (Kristin Davis), Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon) and Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall) – three in their mid-thirties and one in her forties. In every episode, Carrie writes her column and makes the philosophical questions, that pop into her mind. The television series got a lot of attention because it deals with things that we do not dare to speak out loud. When you follow the series, you can see how their lives go forward and how their lives move on little by little.
Four single female New Yorkers took place in the hearts of women all over the world. Many were disappointed when it was announced on 2004 that the Sex And The City would not be produced anymore. Four years later, in May 2008 the television series was continued in the form of a movie, and after that also a second part of movie was released. In my opinion, the most memorable phrase Carrie says is at the end of the last season: “Later that day I got to thinking about relationships. There are those that open you up to something new and exotic, those that are old and familiar, those that bring up lots of questions, those that bring you somewhere unexpected, those that bring you far from where you started, and those that bring you back. But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you can find someone to love the you you love, well, that’s just fabulous.”
